Recent big fines include:

£700,000 fine for Asda’s “mouse infested” in-house bakery at its Bromborough supermarket on the Wirral. Mouse droppings were found in various areas throughout the bakery, and a live mouse was spotted by  Environmental Health Officers during their inspection.

£500,000 fine for Holland & Barrett’s Knightsbridge store, which was descibed as “covered in [mouse] droppings and urine”. The case received high profile publicity in the London Evening Standard.

£134,000 fine for Poundland after Environmental Health Officers discovered chocolate Santas gnawed by mice at a Birmingham city centre store.
